I am resaerching my bennett family and have hit an unusual problem as follows, 1881 census joseph bennett b 1858 ormskirk m to mary a bennett(Idon't know her pre marital surname) born hatton in warickshire, living at 6a old meeting st west bromwich, children harriet aged 3yrs born liverpool, rosehannah aged 1yr born west bromwich.joseph employed as a barman. 1891 census joseph bennett b ormskirk 1858 m to dinah(again I don't know her pre marital surname) b hatton warickshire, living at 13 sheep st(the anchor inn)children annie aged 13yrs born liverpool, elizabeth aged 9yrs born birmingham, joseph g aged 7yrs born birmingham joseph employed as licensed vitualer. my ancestral family originate from the ormskirk area.I cannot find 2 joseph bennetts b 1858 in ormskirk or surrounding villages which leaves me with the thought are these 2 josephs the same with a mistake in the transcribing ? or are they 2 different with a mistake in their birth transcription, one other thougt for any one with any ideas elizabeth, anne, and joseph are all very prevelant names in my eancestors from the mid 1700's up to the 1900's. any advice/suggestions would be most grateful. regards ray |
