Trying to find Wilson

Hi, I'm Gill Cooper trying to find my great grandfather John Bell Wilson. If I have got the right details I believe he was born about 1868, but I don't know where - possibly Yorkshire or Scotland. He married an Esther Ellen Priestman in Bedale Yorkshire in 1902 and their son my grandfather was born December 1903. I believe John Bell Wilson died in Thirsk, Yorkshire in 1904 and I'm told as a result of injuries received when he was a soldier in the Boer War. His medals show Ladysmith, Talana and 2 other I can't remember. When John died his widow re married and became Esther Lambert. Her husband would not have my grandfather and he was sent to live with his maternal grandmother, which is why it is proving so difficult to trace John. If anyone can help I'd be very grateful. |
