Do you have a JOHN TAYLOR, possibly JOHN WYLE TAYLOR, who was born in the Manchester area of Lan on 14 Aug 1849 in your family tree? Your great grandparent's brother maybe - did he seem to vanish after 1848? Does a census page from the 1851 census have a John TAYLOR who was not on any later census page for the family? My g. grandfather ran away from home aged about nine years. He was married in Corowa, NSW, Aust 23 Nov 1876 but the certificate does not give his age at the time, or his parents names. He never mentioned them by name to his children. I know his birth date, 14 Aug 1849, as he wrote it on a government form when he took up land in western NSW. I would appreciate any help you can give. |
