(addition to original posting) Thankyou to everyone who responded. At this stage I just wanted to add, that on the g-grandfather's wedding certificate he actually had his name down as George William the same as his father's and the book presented to him was Master G. Anderson. Anyway hope to have access to his death certificate next week. Trying to discover more information about my great-grandfather's family for my father. Great grandfather was William George Anderson who we thought was born 17th December 1874 in Liverpool however have not been able to match this information with the birth records here. His parents on his Australian marriage certificate were named as George Anderson Occupation: Stock and Shares Broker and mother as a Bessie Thompson. We have a book that was presented to him from a Netherfield Hall College in Midsummer in 1886 for general merit but have not been able to track down a Netherfield Hall College via the internet (I guess the problem of being on the other side of the world to research family history in UK). There appears to have been a younger brother with the name David. We may have a family portrait that was found under a painted portrait of our great grandmother but haven't been able to confirm anything from this. Any information would be greatfully be received, Regards Ned.
