Hello !! I am looking for information on John Davis, a mason, born about 1816 in Wiltshire.......probably Ford or North Wraxall. His son,(name unknown, as he managed to avoid EVERY census !!) was also a mason, and married a Hannah Tudor in about 1872. Their children were Tom T.,Lilian S.,Belaine ( or Bal-Amie) ,John Edward,Amy,& Arthur. At the time of the 1871 census, John Davis senior's wife, the childrens' granny, was in an asylum ( possibly for suggesting the name Bal-Amie !!),thus I have no idea of her name either, so she is in my tree( & out of hers ! ) as Lunatic A. Davis, sadly .I will amend this as soon as I am apprised of her real name. Thankyou. ...Roger.. 09/12/06 O.K.--As promised......Her name was Jane, & she was born in Colerne, Wiltshire. |
