JOSEPH THOMPSON, b. c1842 SOUTH SHIELDS, COUNTY DURHAM. Died c1888 - South Shields. I am trying to find more information on Joseph Thompson, whose father, according to the marriage certificate was THOMAS THOMPSON, a sail maker. Joseph was a journeyman taylor who married MARGARET ANN DIXON (born 1854 Newcastle-upon-Tyne) at St. Hilda's Church, South Shields on October 31st 1875. Joseph and Margaret had one son, THOMAS THOMPSON, (my grandfather) b. September 9th 1880 in South Shields. Joseph died when his son was around eight or nine years old. Can anyone help, please?
