I am trying to find anything about Albert George Brown born around Dec 1889 apparently in or around Spalding Lincs. It has been said he was born in the workhouse! We have a bible belonging to him with a dedication to George Freeborough on his confirmation.(his daughter assures me it was his ) By the time he was married to Ada Richards 11th May 1914 at Spalding he was called Albert George Brown .He served in the First World War in the navy aboard HMS Dominion. His wife Ada came from Spalding her family I can find ! So was he Albert George Brown born in workhouse ! Did some one take him out of there and call him Freeborough? We just do not know but would be very happy if anyone can throw any light on it .Regards Pearl Brown I have been told he had a sister who went to live in America! |
