I am looking for info on my maternal grandmother's father, Joshua Henry Davis. I know he died 7 Oct 1903 and that he was a farm labourer living at Ockle Green, Newent, Glos. I also know the circumstances of his death and I have his death cert and a newspaper report of the inquest into his death. From that report I know that his wife's name was Elizabeth and that she gave his age to the court as 52 which would make his year of birth as 1851. My grandmother's name was Nancy Elizabeth Davis who was born in 1881 and subsequently married Ernest Edward Allen in Birmingham in 1906. she died in Luton in 1981 aged 100. She had two sisters, Florrie and Trix who, I have just learnt, was probably a half sister. That is the sum total of what I know about the Davis family and I really would like to know more. |
