HI HAS ANYONE FOUND AN ALIAS FOR THE HUGHES NAME AS I HAVE FOUND THEM IN THE 1891 CENSUS (I THINK) BUT CANNOT FIND ANY OF THE FAMILY IN THE 1901 CENSUS - AFTER HAVING ONE OF MY TREE NAMES GOING FROM RUSSELL TO RUFFELL - I AM WONDERING IF ANYONE HUNTING THE HUGHES NAME HAS FOUND THE SAME THING THAT THE NAME HAS CHANGED TO SOMETHING ELSE - IF ANYONE HAS ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE GET IN CONTACT AS THIS IS PROVING TO BE A MASSIVE BRICK WALL. BEST WISHES CHRIS.

Hi Christine,
If your Hughes family is in Wales, one likely variant could be Hughes->Huws.
Good luck
