This thread is nearly 6 years old so I doubt Lynne will see your message. Try clicking on her name and sending her a private message. If her email address has not changed then she will get an email from Genes telling her that she has a message from you.

You really shouldn't put your email address on an open thread.

Dear Lynne,
I believe you are the person I have been looking for. My great grandfather was also William Davies. I was going through some of my mother's things a few years ago and found a letter dated 1996 that I believe you wrote to her. It was signed from Lynne and Beryl. If you are in fact the Lynne that wrote to my mother Marion (Davies) in Alberta, Canada then please contact me
Thanks,

Lynne

Lynne Report 3 Sep 2006 23:22

My great grandfather was William Davies born c 1871 and I think in Mostyn, N. Wales. I do know for a fact that he lived for some part of his life at 2 Garden Row/Garden Walk, Mostyn (Now demolished and the land redevloped with modern bungalows). He married my great grandmother Sarah/Sarah Jane/Jane Stott, but don't know when, or if that was before or after he moved to Shaw Lane, Whiston in Lancashire. He may have lived somewhere in between those places, but I have no information either way. Apparently he was a pretty useful amateur footballer but his work was in various mining jobs. He ended his working life as colliery fireman (I think at Cronton, but again not sure) and died in September 1938. I have the details of most of his children etc after that time but know nothing of his siblings, if there were any, or his parents and other ancestors and this is the information I would most like to find. It is possible he had a brother or uncle by the name of Jowarth (?), who was still living in the Mostyn area in the 1960's. Looking for any Davies is like seeking a needle in a haystack but to make matters worse, the area he settled in in Whiston was known locally as Little Wales because so many Welsh families settled there! ANYONE OUT THERE KNOW ANYTHING PLEASE?????
