Hi All, I am desperately trying to find my great grandmother MARY JOHNSON. She was apparently born in Dudley in Staffordshire in 1861/1862. She married Joseph James Button in Bristol on 29th August 1881 and they then lived in Bristol. Her fathers name was Charles Johnson and he was a collier. I can find her on the 1881 census where she is lodging in Bath Road Bristol, just prior to her marriage. I think she may have had a sister or sister in law called Alice Johnson as she is the witness on the marriage certificate. However this could also be her mother. My mother remembers being spoken to by Mary Johnson in Welsh and thought that she had spent some time there. The children that Mary had with Joseph were:- Ellen Florence George (my grandad) Robert Mabel Maud Joseph Jessica Selina Charlie Any help would be gratefully received. Many thanks. Kim |
