Trying to find Evans

I have a June 1920 marriage cert for Harry Maurice Evans, a widower age 40. He died in Oct 1945 and Chiswick Cemetry records show his name as Harry Maurice Evans, age 65.GRO DEC1945 Deaths list him as Henry Maurice, as does his birth cert 26/11/1879 Marylebone. He was unmarried and living with his parents in Shoreditch in 1891 but I cannot find record of his first marriage on GRO, nor his location on 1901 census records. He had a long career with London Underground (at least 30 years) and his second marriage cert shows father's name as Harry Evans, a commercial clerk. Can anyone help to shed light on his whereabouts from 1891 to 1920, or point me in the direction where I can obtain this information? It would be greatly appreciated. |
