Hello, trying to find any details about my great grandmother. Her name was Beatrice Mary Evans I think, although, it is possible that she was Mary Beatrice Evans I think her husband called her BEATTIE I think she was born in Crewe (or possibly Hull) around 1890ish. She married a man called William Kirkpatrick and they spent time in Montreal Canada serving with the Canadian Army I believe. They returned to England where she left her family, leaving my 4 year grandmother on the doorstep with a packet of sweets and instructions to 'wait for Daddy'. That was the last my Grandmother saw of her mother. We do not want to judge, we realise she was young and by all accounts deeply disturbed by the loss of her son. It is possible there was another man involved. I am a Mum myself now and I would really like to know what became of my Great Grandmother, my own grandmother died in 1984 never knowing what happened to her mother. Any help appreciated. |
