Looking for information on my great great grandmother Sopia Davis who came to Australia around1840 ( believed to have come as a nanny ) and married William Samuel Thornton at the Holy Trinity Church in Adelaide, South Australia on the 23rd August 1847.She was aged 22years when married. She died on 19/4/1887 and is buried at the Hindmarsh Cemetery, Hindmarsh, South Australia. William and Sophia had 10 children William Robert 28/ 8/1848 James Samuel 30/11/1850 Mary Ann 24/3/1853 George Henry 8/6/1855 John 10/7/1859 ( my great Grandfather) Josiah17/1/1862 Harriet Ann 5/6/1866 Arthur 28/3/1866 Edith Alisha 7/12 1869 |
