Trying to find Lewis

I am trying to work back from the US to Wales to locate my father's ancestors. Seven Lewis brothers emigrated to North Carolina around the turn of the 19th century. Names that appear in the Halifax county 1790 census include Nicholas, Morgan, Charlis, John (whom I believe to be direct relation), Warner and Lewis. In 1800 census, Philip, John, Mills, David, Robert, Linton appear. My grandfather's name was Morgan, my father and great grandfather were named Francis. I realize this is rather like the proverbial needle in the haystack, but the fact of seven brothers leaving at the same time for North Carolina might make the search easier. Thank you - Muriel Benedetti nee Lewis
