John Clark(e) I am not going to hold out a lot of hope for this as I am aware that John Clark is one of the most common names in use. I am searching for a John Clarke father of Samuel Clark born Gloucester in July 1841. On his birth certificate he put that he was a boatman. In the 1841 census, John is living with his wife Fanny in Gloucestershire South Hamlet with 6 children, Elizabeth, Hannah, Harriet, Matilda, Daniel and Mary Ann. It says in the census that he is a waterman. From the census we understand that both John and Fanny were born c1892 in Worcestershire. I have not been able to find a birth for either of them, or a marriage, I have looked through most of the WRO records for these. Also, I have not been able to find John or Fannyin any subsequent census', neither could I find Samuel in the 1851. I did find a Samuel with his sister Mary Ann in the 1861 census at Brockworth, but I am not sure if it is the correct Samuel. I do have the other four census pages for Samuel. Hope someone is able to help. Eveline |
