Hi my name's Peter Brown,i know this is a long shot but here goes. I'am trying to find info on my grandfather,he was married to Janet Brown in Stockport July 1917,his name was William Brown. A sergeant in the Inniskilling fusilliers, he was either stationed or wounded at Steeping hill military hospital Stockport. It was thought in the family that he was Irish and left my grandma after the war and returned to Ireland, but i have found out that in 1920 he had joined the South Lancs Regiment. He was born in 1891,fathers name was also William listed as a mechanic and deceased by 1917. If these details ring a bell with anybody please make contact. Cheers Pete. |
