George Hall circa 1782. I am researching a Hall line and am back as far as a George Hall who was born c. 1782, aroundTamworth, Staffs. He married a Sarah (born in Ashby de la Zouch I think) and he died 29/3/1862 at Oadby Lodge, Leicester where he was a tenant farmer for nearly 50 years. He is buried at Stoughton, Leics. He may have been an Innkeeper at some point. Children include John Norman, Ann, Michael, George, Joseph (whose descendants include me!) Samuel, Sarah, Elizabeth and Thomas. I cant find George's baptismal record despite searches at Warks and Staffs CRO's. His son Joseph seems to have done well for himself owning a number of farms and a pub in East Leicestershire. Joseph was married to Sarah Mansfield Stafford they had a number of children and the line I have followed are all in Leics. Anyone know this George Hall? |
