A VICTORIAN MYSTERY. TOM LEWIS, born Cardiff c1873, went off and joined a ship at age 15. He was rumoured to have gone to a gold rush, but the family never even knew whether America or Australia. He disappeared. No motive for disappearing has been passed on. He was never heard of by his family again. He was the son of Sarah Fry, and believedly of Richard Evans rather than John Lewis though their 2 believed children were registered as Lewises! That makes him the half-brother of my great-grandma Elizabeth Ellen Lewis. Is anyone descended from him? |
