UPDATED 7 Dec 05 Thanks to the replies on here and further info from relatives, I have : James LEE born 1873, possibly Marlow/Cookham area. Joined the Army 1888. Fought in the 2nd Boer War. Wounded in action in 1917, so left the Army and became a Waterman. Married in 1898 to 'Fanny' (from help on here, possible surname of Pratt) maybe Great Missenden (that's according to last surviving daughter - although that then makes his bride Harriet Payne going by the records) Using the birthplace and year of birth, I have 3, possible candidates for 'James' : James born in Amersham (1891 address Norwoods Yard, 1891 address Rickmansworth (boarder) and 1901, married to Harriet, head of houshold in St Marylebone, working as a Bricklayer's Labourer) James born East Burnham (1891 address Buckland's Row, 1891 Valet at a Hotel in Brighton, nothing in 1901) And......... James born in Marlow. (1881 cesus shows Father Charles, Mother Fanny, two sisters Laura and Rosa, all living at Hollowicks) I can't find anything else about this last one - maybe if he was away during the 1891 census (stationed with the Army somewhere??) and definitely away in 1901 (Boer War time) that would make sense??? If anyone has any more info or can point me to specific areas to concentrate on, I'd be very grateful. Thanks Keith
