Hi, My Great Grandmother was Louisa Hill, Born in Norwich in 1859/60. She married John George Clegg on 2/6/1881. He was a taylor and she was dressmaker, living at the time in Darlington. They both worked on Park Road. Louisa's parents were Thomas.(Born 1837. A farm labourer) and Susan. (Born 1838) both born ing Norfolk. They were married in Norfolk about 1859. Their other children were. John D.O.B 1862. Lucy D.O.B. 1865. Betsy Ann D.O.B. 1869. Elizabeth D.O.B. 1870. All born in Norfolk and Lily D.O.B. 1875 and Ada D.O.B. 1877. both born in Darlington. ( Ada married Thomas Charles Adamson). Louisa died on the 16/11/1943 aged 84 years old. In Wardle, Littleborough. The death was registered by her eldest son, John George (Jnr). who was living at 616 Whitworth Road, Rochdale at the time. ( My Grt, Grt, Uncle). Louisa and John Gorge (Snr) had 9 children.... John George (Jnr) 1881, Gurtrude Louisa 1883, Eliza Ellen 1884, Ester 1886. All born in Darlington, then they moved to Rochdale where, Lillian 1888, Annie 1890, Arthur1895, Harry 1896 and Frank 1899. were all born. Frank Clegg being my Grandfather.
