I am trying to find my grandfather, he is Arthur John Davies, he was living with my grandmother Mary Elizabeth Guest (I know she took his name at this time). They were living in Southowram, Brighouse in 1947. They were not together too long after my father was born in late August 1947 , my grandmother went back to her family in Rotherham when they parted. Arthur John Davies was a journeyman joiner by trade according to my dad's birth certificate, but on his baptism certificate he was a maintenance fitter. I have recently discovered that on returning to her parents my grandmother was pregnant, the child a girl was born in 1948 and was adopted 3 weeks after her birth. She saw my earlier message and contacted me and we have since met. |
