I'm trying to find more information about my great great grandfather's family. His name is George S (probably Samuel) WRIGHT (born Kingsland - somewhere in Hackney?)and he was married to Clara RACKHAM (born Catton, Norfolk c 1854). The 1891 census shows them living at 12 Castle Street in Hackney - George was either 31 or 34 (can't read the entry very well!) with his occupation shown as 'Oilman colour' and Clara was 36. I think they were married in Shoreditch in 1880. At the time they had 3 children - Winifred Clara (known as Winnie), Ada and George Samuel (born 3/5/1889) who was my granfather. They later had another daughter - Violet Mary (known as Queenie) born on 17/7/1894. In the family, we think George's father was either another George Samuel or possibly Samuel George. Any additional information geatfully received. |
