Hi, my name is Sandra. I am trying to find out a bit more about my great granddad. I dont have a lot about him but what I do have is: I think he was born around 1876 possible in Hackney. His wifes name was Sarah Nee Evans, they lived at Nesbit st, Homerton, Hackney E9, and had 4 children: Henry Thomas(know as Sonny), Florence, my nan Rosina, and Bertha. The only other information I have is that he was in the Rifle Brigade and was Fourty, when he died in the trenchs at Yepres in France during the battle of 'Somme', and that his name is on the Menim Gate. I have tried a military site and haven't had any luck, so far. I have been on a WW1 site, and hence I now know where he died. Every thing on this site, tallied with other information I have been given so I am inclined to think this was my Granddad. Thanks again for reading this.
