My great grandmother was Catherine Evans born 1846 in Anglesey, we believe the area to be Amlwch, she married my great grandfather Richard Jones born 1845 at Denbigh. They most likely married in Liverpool ( still to be proved )and lived there all their married life Richard was a carter and they had 5 Daughters and 2 sons. Their sons William and Thomas both died before marrying but their daughters all married and had large family's whose descendants are all still possibly living in and around the Liverpool area, as our branch does Their eldest daughter Eleanor (Nelly, born 1876) married Frank Rowlands Thier second daughter Sarah (born 1878 ) married Maurice Roberts Their third daughter Mary ( born 1881 ) married James (Jimmy) Griffiths Their fourth daughter Catherine (Kate, born approx 1885) married William(Bill) Davies or Davis Their fifth daughter was my grandmother Elizabeth (Bessie, born 1887) who married John Edward Mc Dermott, they in turn all had big families, but some died in infancy. If any one reads this and can recognise any names of their grandparents or gt grandparents I would be pleased to hear from them, as we are now hoping that someone may know more of the earlier family history than we do, I can find Catherine on the 1851 census for Amlwch and Catherine, Richard and family on the 1881 and 1891 census, but only Richard and family on the 1901, he died in 1917. and is buried in KIrkdale with his son William and two of of his granchildren from his daughter Mary. thanks for any help any one can offer |
