I also tried that link unsuccessfully and received the same message. Perhaps Jennifer may see this and respond. |

New Note from Wellwood L. Anderson, of Sth Australia: I have now joined Gene Reunited and may be contacted here or by E-mail. Still searching for news of Wellwood Maxwell Anderson's parentage. He was born circa 1809-1817, and may be the son of an Anderson woman (a daughter of James Anderson Esq., of Kirkgunzeon, b. c. 1739, and his wife Nicholas Allan) by a Maxwell father (prob. Wellwood Maxwell of the Grove or his father of the same name- Wellwood Maxwell of Barncleugh) OR was born the son of David or Robert Anderson (sons of James Anderson Esq., of Kirkgunzeon, b. c. 1739; and his wife Nicholas Allan) by a Maxwell woman (probably a daughter of Wellwood Maxwell of Barncleugh or a close relative). Persons named Jennifer Beggs and Mrs Over have also sought information re this person or his relatives. Please contact if you can help. |

Trying to trace geneal. of an Anderson from Scotland, who was a Squire with property and sired a son, Wellwood Maxwell Anderson c. 1814. His wife's name may be "Bariff" or "Maxwell". Wellwood became Agent General of Immigration for Jamaica (1864) and married Elise Forsythe and lived at "Cavaliers Penn", St Andrew, Jamaica (near Kingston and next door the Government House!). I can trace most of "Squire" Anderson's descendants in Australia (via his grandson Wellwood James Anderson) and know of others in Canada. Any information about the squire would be very helpful. |
