Am trying to find information on Tom Johnson from the Scholes/Cleckheaton area. Born late 1800's, married Clara Smith. Had 2 daughters Emily (later Ormondroyd born at Egypt farm Gomersal)) and Doris (later Riding my mother - born in Scholes near Bradford) plus several sons who reportedly all died at an early age along with their mother. Tom worked in the mines at some point and later on the road construction. He died in the early '30s while trying to visit his grandson (Jack Ormondroyd). I believe he was burried in the chapel at Scholes near Bradford. A long recollection from my mother's words suggested there might be a Scottish connection in his past - any information would be appreciated. |
