Searching for any descendants of JAMES and ELIZABETH [Simpson] MOORE who married in Partick, Glasgow in 1863. JAMES a ship's fitter born c1840 Ireland son of JAMES and JANE [NELSON] MOORE. James and Elizabeth had several children, not all survived childhood. JAMES b.1863 Partick. MARY b1865 Partick. DAVID b.1867 d1869 Partick. ROBERT. b1870 Stockton on Tees, Co. Durham d.1871 JANE b. 1872 Stockton on T. The family then returned to Glasgow. In Glasgow 1881 census JAMES the eldest son, also a ship's fitter was living with his maternal Grandparents DAVID and MARY [Hill] Simpson. JAMES Snr. had a brother ROBERT b 1843 Ireland, a ship's boilersmith, who was my Grandfather, came to Stockton when he was a young boy. He and his family spent some years in Denmark where my mother was born. I need to know where James and Robert were born in Ireland. Any help greatly appreciated. Dorothy Pope |
