My great great grandfather was John Samuel Thompson born 1864 in Ireland. He came to Liverpool and is listed on the 1881 census as a 'mariner'. He married Elizabeth Bridge in November 1865 at St Marys Edgehill, Liverpool. His father was also John Samuel Thompson and is listed on the marriage certificate as 'occupation Paper stainer?' John and Elizabeth moved to Maghull after their marriage and had 5 children, John born 1865, Elizabeth 1868, Charlotte 1871, Catherine 1874 and Thomas 1876. The eldest, John being my great grandfather, became a dentist at 15 years of age and later went on to own a company making false teeth in Liverpool! I would love to hear from anyone who thinks they may be related in some way or can cast a light on any of these people |
