Trying to find Hunt

FRANCIS (FRANK) KEVIN HUNT - SHEFFIELD .... is my late Father. I know almost nothing of his roots but would love to hear from anyone who thinks they may be related, and anyone who actually knew him, or knew of him. He was born to ELLEN HUNT on 31/12/1922 and although the birth was registered in LEEDS, he lived all his life in SHEFFIELD. I gather his unmarried mother was "sent" to Leeds to give birth. (Better than being sent to the workhouse I suppose!) I have absolutely no idea who his Father was. I have also been told that Ellen's father hailed from Ireland but don't know if that's fact or fiction. Dad lived with his Mum in Sheffield until he was 12, but I don't know exactly where. Ellen then moved away and Dad was left with her best friend FLORENCE CARNALL, or CARNELL and her husband. They lived on Wentworth St where they had an off-license that Dad used to help out in when he wasn't at St Vincent's school. He was also close to Florence's friend ETHEL and I think one of those ladies had a daughter called MAVIS. He left school at 14 and went to work for a company in Upperthorpe called John Fearn - it was a cooperage, they made barrels. He served in the Royal Navy during WW2 then went back to his old job after the war and stayed there until he died in 1983. I've just read some great success stories on here and am hoping I will be writing one of my own very soon!!
