MY GREAT GREAT GREAT GRANDFATHER BENJAMIN HALL BORN IN LIGHTCLIFFE IN HALIFAX IN 18?? MARRIED A LADY CALLED MIRANDA FROM KING CROSS AREA OF HALIFAX. HE WORKED AS A JOINER AS DID SOME OF OTHER MEN IN THE FAMILY. THEIR CHILDRENS NAMES WERE, JOHN, ALFRED, MARY JANE, THOMPSON, WALTER, GEORGE AND THEY ALL IN TURN MARRIED AND HAD CHILDREN TOO MANY TO MENTION. MARY JANE HALL MARRIED SOMEONE WITH SURNAME OF SIMPSON AND THEY ALSO LIVED IN HALIFAX. SHE WAS A DRESSMAKER. MOST OF THE WOMEN WORKED IN THE MILL AND THE MEN WERE IN THE ENGINEERING OR JOINERY TRADE. HAS ANYBODY ELSE TRACED THEIR TREE BACK SO FAR, WITH ANY RESULTS THAT MAY MATCH WITH MINE. |
