This is going to sound very irregular but I need to find out the truth about a rumour I heard over a week ago (October 9 2004). It has come to light that sometime in 2000, my cousin, Shirley EDEN (nee Oldrieve) then aged 40/41 (b.1959), took her life off the railway embankment at Lowes Bridge, Torquay. Sadly, my side of the family (her auntie- i.e. my mum, and her cousin- i.e. me) have/had not been in communication with her for some time since her mother's 'departure' in the early/mid '80s. Ideally we would like to hear that she is safe and the rumour is unfounded but either way we would like to know the truth. So if you genuinely know/knew Shirley, or know anyone that can shed any light on her welfare, then please contact me at delunderwood at hot mail or using this message board. Thank you. P.S.: (20/10/2004 Update)... Results of my enquiries have found that the incident in fact took place at Paignton railway station, not at Lowes Bridge, Torquay or Torre railway station, Torquay as first believed, on February 2nd 2000 with the inquiry taking place in June 2000.
