Seeking information about the family of JEMIMA CLARK (c1810-1891). She was born in Gt. Bentley Essex and married JOHN BARBER (1811-1853) about 1833 possibly at Thorpe-Le-Soken, Colchester. They had 11 children, four of them dying in childhood: Alger Jemima (b.1834); John (b. 1836); Hannah (b. 1838); Eli William (1840-47); Kezia (1841-47); Elija James (1843-47); Caleb(1845-45); ESTHER (1846-c. 1887); Micaiah (b. 1849); Jonah Z. (1852-1921 – changed his name to Jonas when he became a mariner); and Lewis Charles (b. 1853). The 1941 census lists John as a carpenter and the 1881 census lists Jemima as an upholsterer. Any information or words of wisdom in continuing the search would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. |
