Looking for any one who has researched their Wilson side and found themselves related to the last town crier of Birmingham! Nearly all first born males were called William Jacob Wilson and they were a big family! :) mostly residing in Aston, Birmingham and other close areas in Warwickshire. The town criers job was handed from father to son for almost 300 years. Jacob Wilson the last crier is buried in Warstone cemetary Handsworth. During my research I came accross a gentleman who'd met another of Jacob's grandchildren. So are you out there reading this? It would be nice to compare notes. Get in touch if you think there may be a connection :) Sioux |
