I am trying to make contact with any descendants of JOHN BOWYER ALLEN born about 1839 possibly in Mamhilad, Mon. who married RACHAEL JENKINS born about 1840 - marriage date 25/12/1862 at Mamhilad. The children of the marriage were, other than my Grandfather also John Bowyer Allen born 1865, Arther born 1865, Henry born 1870, William Henry born 1871, Margaret born 1873, Florence born 1875 who married a William Price, Bessie 1878 and Agnes Lilian born 1880. According to family history John Bowyer Allen born 1839 left his family and went to work for the King of Italy as a locksmith (he was a blacksmith by trade). Whether this is true or not and if he ever returned to Mamhilad, near Pontypool is not known. I believe Rachael (John's wife) eventually moved to Cardiff. If anyone knows of this family or who are descended from one of the children, please get in touch. |
