ROSE ELLEN TURNER (or TWEED) I am trying to build a profile of the life of Rose Ellen TURNER (or TWEED) but have very little information about her. She was probably born about 1885, possibly in the Walthamstow/Woodford area, but I cannot be certain as there could be an Aylesbury link. She had a borther called Albert who married an Alice and I remember them living in Woodford in the late 1940s early 50s. On 10 March 1914, Rose Ellen gave birth to a son, Leslie Frederick Tweed, my father, at 35 Mansfield Road, Walthamstow. His father was Frederick William Tweed, but there is not any certificated evidence of Rose and Frederick getting married. Leslie was placed in the care of Barnardo's and, it is believed, that Rose eventually emigrated to Australia. Please, please can anyone one throw any light on this matter? Many thanks Vincent |
