I'm looking for information on my Welsh grandparents, and hope someone can help me. My grandmother's name was Hannah Mary (but for some reason she was known as Millie or something like that!) Brooks (or Brookes). She first married someone by the name of Jenkins but was widowed young after having one or two sons by him (one was called John Bevan), and she subsequently married William Thomas, a blacksmith, who I understand was also a widower, possibly with sons of his own. They moved to Sault Ste Marie, Canada, and had a whole squad of kids: the names I remember are Gwen, Charlotte, Lily, May, Frederick (my father), but there may have been others. My grandparents moved back to Wales and settled in a place called Tynant, where my grandmother died in c1948. Grandfather had died at the beginning of the 1930s, I think. Does this ring a bell with anyone? If so, I'd be grateful to hear from you. Many thanks, Brenda Thomas Bergerre |
