Trying to find Evans

Hope someone can help with this. My husband was born Phillip Evans but later adopted. His birth mother Jessie Jack (known as Jacky) was married to Holly Alexander Evans at the time of Phill's birth, but Alec was not his father. This is known fact. Alec's name does not appear on his birth certificate, but he agreed to have his name entered on the adoption certificate so that Phill would not be considered illegitimate (even tho' technically he is) Jacky remarried, had 2 more children and later emigrated to Australia, where she still lives. She flatly refuses to tell us anything about his father or his adoption circumstances so we have to find alternative means! Phill's adopted mother told us that Alec emigrated to America soon after Phill's birth, possibly to Connecticut. He is no blood relation of Phill's but is the natural father of Phill's elder brother Tony, who was 8 when Phill was adopted out. Alec has to know the background to Phill's birth father, he divorced Jacky because of it and took off to America and we'd like to contact him if possible to learn what happened. He was born in 1919 so would be an old man now, even if he's still alive. You might think that Holly Alexander Evans is a pretty unusual name, but having trawled through several web sites in search of him, it's not an unusual name at all, there are dozens in America. He was born in the Manchester/Salford area, married Jacky in Manchester. If any of these names ring a bell I would be eternally grateful for any information, however trivial. Thanks, Toni Evans.
