Jim Charman. Searching for my grandfathers second marriage. His name was Henry b.16th Jan 1868. First marriage to Clara Bailey 17th April 1897.They had 1 daughter Clarice Minnie (my Mother) 3 sons Harry, Leslie, Frank(Bernard). Frank was born in 1906.There were no offspring from the second marriage, the only info we have on second wife is her Christian name KATE. There is some arguement in the family as to the Surname could be Bannan*,Nadan*. I was born in 1923 and new Kate from an early age but never knew Clara. As Frank was born the youngest child to Henry and Clara in 1906 the second marriage must have been somewhere after this and before 1923. All the above took place in Birmingham, my g/DAD died on 10th may 1939, (he was a Quaker); He was also an Alderman on Birmingham City Council and lived at 104 Third Avenue Small Heath. Kate died 1951c Any help would be greatly accepted. Thanks in anticipation. P.s. G/Dad owned the IDEAL WIRE MATTRESS CO.LTD original factory Bordesley Green, later THE LABOUR HALL when the factory moved to Hay Mills. Stop press:- Just disovered that Clara Bailey may be called Clara Bailey Cox, from old letters just unearthed. Second wife Kate died September 1951 aged 78 Cremated Perry Barr October 1951. Sorry - still no Surname |
