Hello everyone. I'm trying to make up a family tree. Does anyone have any information on any Wright connected to my father, Donald Edward Wright(13/12/1946 - 03/08/2003), or his father, Albert Wright(1899 - 1988/9) From the Sheffield Area. The family have mainly lived around the Stannington/Loxley areas during the past 60 years or so. Donald was the youngest child of three. He had two older sisters - Brenda and Jean. Albert had the above three in his 2nd marriage. In his 1st marriage he had four children. His first wife died in 1939. He remarried in 1940.He passed away in his sleep in 1988 or 89(I was really little back then.) He sometimes went by the name of "Prime Wright", due to the fact he had a knack for bearfighting. Family tales refer to Albert as quite a ladies man! Donald worked down various pits and also worked as a bus driver/conductor. He went on the Sheffield Autohire truck push from John o' groats to Lands End in 1986. He went on to work as a delivery driver after being told he had diebetes. Donald was married twice. I dont know the name of the first woman he married, but together they had a son, Paul,(Anthony?) Wright. They split up and Paul and his mother moved down around the south coast(Portsmouth/Isle of wight area) in the early 1980's. Donald got married(again???) to Mandy Maureen Vippond in either 1980 or 1981 and I, James Stuart Wright, was born 27th July 1981.They lived at the Park Hill area of Sheffield until 1985 before moving on to Hackenthorpe. They went on to have 3 other boys together - Steven(26/07/1983), Matthew(28/07/1985) and Nicholas(09/08/1986). They divorced in 1989 and Mandy Wright(nee Vippond) gave birth to her first little girl, Sarah louise Cain, 20/10/1990.Mandy lived at hackenthorpe until her tragic death in march 1997.When Mandy and Donald divorced in 1989, Donald lived up at 64, Fairbarn Drive, Stannington. He stayed there until he moved a few hundred yards away to 5, Fairbarn Place, Stannington, in July 1997, where he lived until his death at the young age of 56 on 03/08/2003. His and Mandy's youngest son still lives there to this very day. His second wife died 11/04/1996. She passed away at her home in Loxley. I believe that the name of his second wife was Mary Elizabeth Holmes I'm also looking for information of other relations; Freda Wright - moved to Australia(date etc unknown), Ada Wright William(Bill) + Audrey Margaret Trevor(margaret's son), Trevor(margaret's husband). Mark, Greg and Ryan(Brothers), of whom all 3 lived up Stannington with their dad, Mark and mum(whose name i sadly cannot remember). Gordon, Or anyone else that anyone out there thinks might be related in some way or another to my family. Flash Farm, near Stannington, Sheffield, is mentioned as a one time family home for some of my relatives. Also. If anyone has any information on Joseph E Wright(b.1860), and his wife, Fanny(nee Oliver - b.1861). They grew up around eccleshall bierlow, and when married, lived around the Heeley area. Any help/info would be most grateful. Feel free to get in touch with me at anytime. Thanks again. James S Wright |
