I am trying to trace a William Cox, date and place of birth not known to me but presumed to be Fairford, Gloucestershire. He was apparently the son of John Cox, born Southrop, Gloucs. in 1831. Other children of John Cox were Ann (b.1855), Elizabeth (b. 1857, at Southrop), Sabina (b. 1860, at Fairford), Richard (b. 1864, at Fairford) and Harry William (born 1875, also at Fairford). Elizabeth is my great aunt on my mother's side and my great grandmother on my father's! Sabina went to live in Dunsfold, Surrey and married a George Wells. Harry W, my maternal grandfather, went there to live with her as a young man, at the end of the 19th century. William has so far proved untraceable and only family lore points to his existence! As well as anything on William, I should be grateful for any further information re Ann, Elizabeth or Richard, as well as on their father John Cox and his own father, Robert Cox (born Southrop in 1804). |
