Hi I have just started tracing my family tree and have little to go on. My dad of 87 is still alive but can only remember bits. His father Robert and his mother Jessie Bogie had a farm which I believe was at a place called Long Nidrey (or something like that), my grandma Jessie was also called Anderson before she married my grandad, just to complicate matters for me. They had seven children, David, Jim, William, Robert, Janet, Jean and Alex (my dad). They left Scotland as the first world war began and moved to a farm near York where my dad was born and maybe his sister Jean. My grandma died when my dad was only 11, and I was the only Anderson girl born to all my dads brothers and sisters, my dad says I am the image of his mother and looking at her photos I have to agree, Please contact me if you have any lead. My grandad won a prize each year whilst in Scotland for the best bullock it was called Thorleys Special Prize I have a silver tea service which my auntie gave to me before she died, she felt the only Anderson girl should have it. Thanks for any help. Gillian
