Find Ancestors

Hi, My name is Natasha and I am trying to find out more about my father's family. My grandfather was Jim Joseph Johnson. He was born on the 29/12/1925 in Chatham, Kent. He died on the 07/05/1971. His parents were James (Jim) Johnson and Alice Johnson (do not know great grandmother's maiden name). They had 10 children and they are as follows: - Fred Johnson who was married to Irene Mulford. They had two children Freda and Irene. - Winifred Johnson (Win) who was married to Roy Fenings. Their children are Brenda and Shirley. - Sarah Johnson (Sally) who was married to Arthur Costen. They had four children Pauline, Janet, James and Marleen. - Barbara Johnson (May) who was married to Leonard Smith (Jim). They also had four children, Greta, Gary Josephine and Jimmy - Ainse Johnson (Asey) who married Ernie Parsons and had two children Christine and Lally - Dorothey Johnson (Dolly) who married Tab Stratton. They had 3 children, Betty, Joan and Susan - Ivy Johnson who married Len Walford. They had no children. - George William Johnson who married Daphne. They had no children and both are now deceased. George died in 2002 aged 81 and lived with Daphne in Porthleven, Cornwall. - Kathleen Johnson who married Len Mould and they had one child Rosemary. - Jim Joseph Johnson (my grand father) who married Muriel Alice Foster in 1946. They had three children, Simon, Roger and Michael (Michael died as a child). From speaking to my family I believe that most of the Johnson family seemed to have come from the Kent area and in particular the Medway Towns, Kent e.g. Rochester, Gravesend, Chatham. My grand parents lived at 9 Crest Road, Rochester until my grand mother's death in 1980. At the time they were married in 1946 they lived at 32 Corporation Street, Rochester (?) Finally I believe that most of the men in the family worked as Stevedores on the docks. My grand father was one and so was his father James Johnson. I am in the beginning stages of research my family history and would like to find any relatives out that who are interested in getting in touch and any one who may think they have a connection with my family
