Since leaving this message I have obtained my ggp's marriage certificate dated 6th Feb. 1866 - so it appears I got their dates of birth wrong. When they married Edward was 28 years old and Elizabeth 26 which would make their dates of birth around 1838 and 1840 respectively - NOT as quoted below. They were married at St Mary Church, Northgate, Kent. Trying to locate relatives of my maternal great-grandmother ELIZABETH MARTIN (born in 1855 - somewhere in Kent, I believe). She married EDWARD TUFF (born in 1853) a farmer in Kent and they had 5 children, Edith, Sally, Rose, Mary Ann (my grandmother born 21/08/1882) and 1 son Percy who died young. |
