My name is John (Jack) Bailey. I'm looking for a half nephew. When born in 1946, he had the surname Williams and for a very short time between the period March 1946 and December 1946 he lived in Upper Stanhope Street Cottages, Liverpool 8 from where he was adopted. The person involved with the adoption was, I beieve, a Mrs Whyte or White. His mothers full name was Margaret (Peggy) Williams, although she may have used the surname Bailey, born April 1928, had 2 children and died March 1949 aged 20 in what was then Smithdown Road hospital, Liverpool. I am not sure where the baby was born. Margaret was my half sister and for a time worked in Brough's steel drum manufacturers located in Chesterfield Street/Blair Street, Liverpool 8 and had friends there. If there is someone who can give me any info on the baby Williams, I will be forever grateful. |
