Hi Liz,
Thanks for the tips. I did know that when a msg is unopened it remains purple in colour, but thanks anyway. I am aware that Julia may not still be a member, but I just have to try anyway! I'll wait a little longer before I give up though, I think, seeing it's only been a couple of days! I don't always get to check my msg's as frequently as I'd like to, due to being busy!

Bye, Glynis

If you check your sent messages, and the envelope is still purple, it means it has not been opened. Julia may not be a member any longer, or may have changed her email address and not informed GR.

Hi Liz,
Did also send a private msg to Julia, but haven't heard from her as yet. Here's hoping!

Thanks for the tips.

As this is an old posting, it may be better to send a message direct to Julia by clicking on her name.
For your own safety, it would be better to remove your email address - also against GR rules

Hi Julia,
May be chasing a wild goose here, but thought I'd write, just in case!
I am actually looking for a fellow named Brian, possibly surnamed Hall, but may've had a father called Albert Dodds. It's thought that the mother's name was Lizzie or Elizabeth Hall & it's possible that this Brian Dodds or Hall could've been born in either Co Durham or Northumberland, although that's not certain. It's possible that this Brian was adopted out at birth, but again, no proof. He may've remained with his mother. His father, Albert Dodds did marry in 1939 and had 5 children, between the years 1940 & 1955. The youngest of these 5 kids, is named Rita and she's a friend of mine, as well as a relation on my husband's side of the family. When her mother was dying a few years ago, she told Rita and her siblings that they had a half brother called Brian, who was born before she married their dad. It's been an ongoing mystery, as the family have not been able to even begin to try and find this Brian or his family, if he indeed is still alive & does have a family. Anyway, we would be very grateful for any light that you may be able to shed on this little mystery!

It's possible that this Brian I'm looking for is now deceased, but we've been told that he was married with at least one daughter. I have no idea of what he looked like. Don't think Rita's mum shed much light on the subject, as you can imagine it was a touchy one.

Well, I'm looking forward to hearing from you, hopefully if you're still around on GR. It's been a few years since your posting! Here's hoping!

Thanks, Glynis Halliday, Western Australia

Julia Hall Would like contact with any of Brian Hall's children. He was red-haired,born about 1939-ish. Married Pauline Langton around 1958, had 2 daughters. Don't know of his relatives, as Mum,Suzanne & I parted from him when I was toddler. No disruptions to follow, just curious if there's any distant Sisters/brothers!
