Trying to find Wood

Lynn

Lynn Report 31 Aug 2003 00:06

Hi, my name is Lynn, I am trying to find a section of my mum's family. My grandmother was Elizabeth Veronica Wood, who later took the married name of Hayter. The last address I have for her was 18 Selborne Street, Liverpool 8. I know her birthday was June 25th, but not sure of the year. I have her death as being given as 29th March 1963 aged 43, but I was told that her age was incorrect. She had two children, Derek and Betty (my mum). These children where adopted by my grandmother's husband and took the surname of Hayter. Her husband's name was Harold George Hayter and sadly he was lost at sea in WW2, he served on the HMS Barham. I know my grandmother had a sister Anne/Annie, who's last address was Webster Road in Wavertree. I know my gran must of had a brother as I have met my mum's cousin Peter, who also came from a large family. Sadly Peter passed away without me gaining any information. The only names I can remember regarding Peter's family are..Jimmy, Mildred, Violet. I think Jimmy may live in the Fazakerly area of Liverpool. I also know that Elizabeth and Annie had a sister Sarah, who passed at a young age, she had spina bifida. If anyone can relate to anything I have said, would you please get in touch. I know very little of my family history on both sides. As I have no one to turn to, maybe someone out there can help me. I will answer all mail, no matter what. Thanx and good luck to all out there researching their family. xx
