I'm trying to find any relatives of my grandfather William Turner who was born in Great Bridge, Tipton, in the Black Country in c. 1880. He married Hannah Jane Bennett around the end of the 19th century, beginning of the 20th century. They then moved to Knowsley in Liverpool and finally settled in Ellesmere Port, where William Turner worked for Wolverham Corrugated Iron. William and Hannah had 13 (!) children, two of whom are still alive and well and in their 90's. I understand that my grandmother, Hannah Jane Bennett, was a foundling, although the details on this are rather sketchy. I am not sure if my grandfather had brothers or sisters, but judging by the size of families in those days, I imagine he did. I would love to hear from anyone related to my grandparents, no matter how distant. Rita Turner |
