Trying to find Wood

Madeleine

Madeleine Report 10 Aug 2003 14:22

Seeking 'Wood' and 'Starling' . I am Madeleine (birthname Wood) (London UK) looking to trace my father's (Bernard Wood) and grandfather's (Frederick Wood) family, who lived in North London (Palmers Green, N13 postcode) from the 1910s to the 1950s/60s. Frederick married my grandmother (Edith Mary, surname Starling) who came from Norfolk, and I would also like to trace all her relatives. Bernard was born 1916 and had a brother Aubrey who died in action in the navy in the second world war, and 2 sisters Gladys (but she preferred to be called 'Edna', her middle name) and Beryl. We have a small family - with my marriage the family surname with die out unless my brothers have children! - and would like to meet more members of the Wood and Starling family tree. We would also like to trace some Wood relatives in Australia. In the 1920s/30s a branch of Bernard's family, I think his cousins - called Luther and ? - emigrated to Australia. We found a newspaper cutting from an Australian paper a few years aog but have since lost it - it stated something along the lines that a relation of these 2 was now the Dean of the Uni of (?Melbourne), or some such postiion. We would like to trace these relatives. Please do email us.
