Trying to find relatives of the late WILLIE JACKSON. Born 18th June 1918 in ?Mirfield West Riding Yorkshire. Father was Robert George Jackson, a police officer in the old Dewsbry Borough Police Force. Had two step sisters, Evelyn and Winifred. Willie joined the old West Riding Constabulary being stationed at Mexborough before the war, then joined the army, (Grenadier Guards) serving throughout the 2nd world war. He married Marjorie Bailey on Boxing Day 1939. Had a daughter, Marlene, borne in 1943. Left the army in ?1947, then went down the pit at Manvers Main, Barnsley. He died in Mexborough, South Yorkshire in 1989. Anybody with any information, please contact me through my Email <[email protected]> |
